Courage, motivation and training – these are all parameters for a successful workout session. But to be honest, at the end “your training” is all about “your style”. Individualization is the big keyword what brings an individual style to your workout and represents who you are and where you play.

While you can design your own tennis racket with a special online configurator on Wilson.com, NIKE goes one step further and is touring with a special studio set-up through big cities over the world: #NIKEBYYOU – the new design studio for a special brand experience.

One year ago, NIKE launched a very innovative new personalization hub at New York (Manhatten Downtown). One year later, during the marathon in Berlin, NIKE set up the stunning “NIKE by You Studio” for the first time in a running store in a separate corner at the NIKE flagship store. During this time not only running pros like Paula Redcliff enjoyed a “private session”, but also bloggers from highsnobiety.com and other NIKE fans were invited for so-called “creative workshops”.

“Let’s do something with tennis. Something new.”

With these words, I went to Michelle and @eaa72XY to get inspired by the two design experts from L.A..

“Think different. Mainstream is boring. Create your own shoe and try to tell a story for a unique look.”

eaa72XY – one of a few NIKE experts for Air Brush – tries to do things differently.

“At the beginning, nobody has a solid idea. Designs have to evolve by taking a lot of time, setting a goal, and being guided by inspiration.”

He took the time for me and showed me all the necessary and possible steps to achieve the perfect result.

Special THX to Michelle and @eaa72XY , who made my day. Creating my first customized shoe – I called it “ILWTNS 1.0” J – was so much fun and a memorable experience. It was definitely not my last one.
